Email update from Argentina

In case any one was wondering, I am fine and in Las Lomitas Argentina
waiting for the rain to stop. This is a *very* small (and wet) town,
but I have a dry place to stay, more later;

    I'm planning a trip to SouthAmerica, and I was looking fot apartments for rent Buenos Aires.... do you know where I can get info about this?

    I have left Argentina and am back home, so I can't help anymore, but I am thinking you would have no problems finding something to rent when you get there. You can also try the internet, but my advice is to go there and figure out what part of BA you want to stay. If it was me it would be in el centro, close to a Subte station.

Just like the real motorcycle blogs YAOGB test drove the brand new Indian Chieftain  as resurrected ( for the umpteenth time ) now it is Polaris' turn.   Based on my ride, this attempt may have a future. A tweet from Cycle Works, the Edmonton Alberta Indian dealer announced that the demo fleet would be here on September 20th and 21.  I dropped by about 1:30 on Friday,  there was hardly anyone there, no problems signing up, the ride, we left 10 minutes later, just me one other demo rider, the lead rider and the chase. A tale of two XTs

Over the years I have almost always had more than one motorcycle at a time, but never really had a collection.  Collecting stuff has a lot in common with activities like recreational drug use or gambling, it can be fun, but watch you don't get hooked.  In my case the wake up call arrives when I can't get into the garage anymore, and then it's 'everything must go!' until the garage is empty.  After which, like coat hangers in a closet, a bike creeps into a corner, and another and another. The collecting bug does not discriminate, people collect all kinds of shit, from buttons to military tanks. I never saw my random moto acquisition binges as an investment, I was mostly sucked into buying old bangers through the motorcycle price-age curve, a tool used by economists to study the demand for rusty old crap. New Bike!

  Unboxing at the dealership For the first time ever I bought a brand new, as in never been used by anyone, motorcycle.  Ever since my first experience of buying a new car at age 19 and watching it depreciate to half its value before I had paid it off, I stuck to waiting for someone else to depreciate their new whatever before I purchased it.  If you have read some of my other posts you probably already know I am a cheapskate.   Bein as this is January 2025, my new bike a 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan,  is no longer as new as it was when I bought it in July 2023.   The Moto Guzzi California Vintage, I bought back in 2015 was a lot heavier than it needed to be.  It was also the first cruiser style bike I ever owned, and probably the last.  Cruisers bikes do not suit my preferred riding,  getting out of town and riding moderately fast for tas long as it takes to empty the gas tank.  The barn door handlebar mounted windscreen ddid ...
