Batting a thousand

Well the score so far, one lost drivers license, one lost VISA card, one lost nephew, and one lost van.  This is getting discouraging.  Added to that, Bakersfield is cold damp, foggy and dark.

I leave messages for Adrian to call, but no news.

    We've left some messages. Adrian is alive and well in brighton. Your van is sold and the plates are being shipped here with Adrian's stuff via UPS. Hey, have some fun on your trip!

Indian Chieftain Riding Impression

Just like the real motorcycle blogs YAOGB test drove the brand new Indian Chieftain  as resurrected ( for the umpteenth time ) now it is Polaris' turn.   Based on my ride, this attempt may have a future. A tweet from Cycle Works, the Edmonton Alberta Indian dealer announced that the demo fleet would be here on September 20th and 21.  I dropped by about 1:30 on Friday,  there was hardly anyone there, no problems signing up, the ride, we left 10 minutes later, just me one other demo rider, the lead rider and the chase. Before we left I looked all the bikes over.   Polaris certainly got the looks right.  Just as an unblinged Heritage Soft Tail has captured the looks of the hard tail Pan Heads of the 1950's, and Road King that of the  Electra Glides of the 1960's, Polaris has matched the look of the last Springfield Chiefs. New Bike!

  Unboxing at the dealership For the first time ever I bought a brand new, as in never been used by anyone, motorcycle.  Ever since my first experience of buying a new car at age 19 and watching it depreciate to half its value before I had paid it off, I stuck to waiting for someone else to depreciate their new whatever before I purchased it.  If you have read some of my other posts you probably already know I am a cheapskate.   Bein as this is January 2025, my new bike a 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan,  is no longer as new as it was when I bought it in July 2023.   The Moto Guzzi California Vintage, I bought back in 2015 was a lot heavier than it needed to be.  It was also the first cruiser style bike I ever owned, and probably the last.  Cruisers bikes do not suit my preferred riding,  getting out of town and riding moderately fast for tas long as it takes to empty the gas tank.  The barn door handlebar mounted windscreen ddid ...
